Privacy First

100% Client-Side Privacy

Your CAD geometry never leaves your workstation. OpenCASCADE executes entirely inside a browser-local WebAssembly sandbox.

02
3D Inspection

Model Inspection

Inspect the exact tessellated mesh buffer in 3D before exporting. Toggle wireframe rendering, coordinate axes, and reference grid.

03
Mesh Verification

Mesh Validation

Detect zero-area degenerate triangles, duplicate facets, and non-manifold edges to prevent 3D printer slicing failures.

3D Printing Pre-Flight FAQ

Why convert STEP to STL for 3D printing?

While some modern slicers can open STEP files, converting to high-resolution STL ensures predictable mesh triangulation, eliminates slicer tessellation bugs, and allows you to inspect manifold watertightness and bed fit before sending code to your printer.

Which tolerance preset should I use for 3D printing?

Standard preset (0.10mm linear deflection) is recommended for most FDM printing (0.4mm nozzle). For precision functional threads or resin SLA printing, choose the Fine preset (0.01mm deflection) to eliminate visible polygonal faceting.

What 3D printers are supported for build volume verification?

StepSTLTools includes built-in envelopes for Bambu Lab (X1-Carbon, P1S, A1, A1 Mini), Prusa Research (MK4, Mini+, XL), Creality (Ender-3, K1 Max), Elegoo (Neptune 4, Saturn 4 Ultra), Voron 2.4, and Anycubic resin printers, with automatic 90° bed rotation detection.

How does the in-browser material mass and print cost calculator work?

We integrate exact analytical volume using the divergence theorem on your CAD solid, scaled by your chosen material density (PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU, Resin, etc.) and infill percentage (15%, 20%, 40%, 100%), generating estimated print time and material cost in dollars.
